What is a text card?
A text card is a readable image of a piece of writing — a quote, a note, an answer, a definition — typeset at a size that survives a social feed. TextCard turns text into image cards so the words stay legible instead of being squeezed into a screenshot.
Do I need an account?
No. Paste text, download cards. There is no sign-up, no email step and no trial to start.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
It is free, and exported text cards carry no watermark, no logo and no badge. There is also no cap on how many you make.
Does my text get uploaded anywhere?
No. Every text card is drawn in your own browser with Canvas. The text you paste never leaves your device, so drafts and private notes stay private.
What kind of text can I paste in?
Any text. Plain paragraphs work fine. Markdown gets rendered — headings, bold, italics, lists, blockquotes and fenced code blocks. You can also drag in a .md or .txt file, or drop one onto the input box.
Can I change the font and the alignment?
Yes. The style panel has a font picker that searches the entire Google Fonts library, plus left, centre and right alignment. Both apply to the whole set, so a four-card carousel stays typographically consistent.
How long can the text be?
Longer than one card. Anything that overflows is split into a set, and the thumbnail strip under the preview shows exactly how many text cards you ended up with. A long article simply makes more cards.
What sizes can I export?
Eight aspect ratios: 4:5, 3:4, 2:3 and 9:16 for portrait, 1:1 for square, and 16:9, 3:2 and 1.91:1 for landscape and link previews. Changing the ratio re-flows the text — it is not a crop.
Which file formats can I download?
PNG, JPG, WebP and PDF. Single cards also copy to the clipboard as PNG, and the full set downloads as a ZIP.
Can I use the text cards commercially?
Yes. The cards are yours — post them, schedule them, sell them, put them in a deck. No attribution required.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. On a narrow screen the studio stacks input, then the style list, then the preview, and the export controls sit next to the thing they act on.
